Dave Kerpen:

To approach someone online — the same way I would approach somebody in real life offline — with the equivalent of a handshake and then the most important question that I can ask anyone.

Online it’s also the most important question that I can ask anyone offline which is, “How can I help you?” I ask that with sincerity and authenticity.

I always look to help the person that I’m meeting online first — before I even think of any possible gain or any lead gen activity.
