My tip is going to dovetail with what the 60 Second Marketer just discussed. If you look at our socialnomic world; you’ll understand that word of mouth is now world of mouth, or word of mouth is on digital steroids. It’s imperative you recognize that your customer is going to be your best salesperson. They’re going to be your best marketer.
In order to achieve that, you’re going to want to have a tribe. You want to set up some of your key followers and your influencers. But a lot of us make the mistake of going after that A-lister. Now the reason that’s a mistake is that the A-listers already have a ton on their plate. They’re not going to be able to take your product or service to the next level.
But if you can find those up-and-comers, which are certainly out there — like a B-lister — they’ve got the time and they’ll be more honored if you ask them to help you take your products and services to that next level.
Now the way you can identify those folks is through tools like Twitter or Gmail. Just start to highlight over time some of your biggest fans. And what’s key, like Andrea mentioned, is that instead of going wide and shallow with a lot of people — go narrow and deep. So, select a handful of your tribe and go deep on that relationship with them. They’ll take your products and services where you want them to be. They’ll be your best salespeople and marketers.
